Obituary:

Patrick Bourque was born on September 27, 1977 in the Montreal suburb of Terrebonne, Quebec to Laurent and Micheline Bourque.  He grew up in the French Canadian provence of Quebec and earned an Associates Degree in Music Technique from Lionel-Groulx College before becoming a member of Emerson Drive in August 2002.

As a musician. Patrick enjoyed many career successes along with his Emerson Drive brothers.  He recorded two albums as a part of the band and played on several tracks for other artists at the requests of producers Richard Marx and Keith Follese.  Although the band achieved many career milestones during the time Patrick was a part of Emerson Drive it was his love of perfoming and his amazing skills as a musician that will never be forgotten.

Throughtout his life many people were touched by Patrick's infectious smile and addictive charm.  It was his irresistible personality and deep passion for music that won over fans and friends everywhere.  His physical absence in all our lives is impossible to fill, but the spirit of joy and enthusiasm that drove Patrick Bourque will continue to live on through the memories that we have shared with him.

Patrick was a son, brother, uncle and friend to people around the world.  He leaves behind his father Laurent, mother Micheline, brother Christian, sister-in-law Sylvia, nephew Anthony, niece Megane and girlfriend Tricia Terrill.  Patrick also leaves behind an extended family here in Nashville including the Emerson Drive family and fans from around the world.

From the Emerson Drive Family

While en route to a show in Nebraska, Emerson Drive band members learned early this morning that their friend and former band member Patrick Bourque died suddenly last night at his home in Canada. His body is at a hospital at this time and no official details have been made available as to the circumstances surrounding his death. The brothers of Emerson Drive are shocked and grieving. Patrick was the band's bass player until he resigned in August. He had been living and working in Canada since leaving Emerson Drive.
